020-Seattle

mtranier.jpgYesterday was a fun day, although my excursion to Green Lake demonstrated how inefficient the bus can be in rush hour traffic - especially when there are disturbances downtown and other unknown factors contributing to the gridlock. I arrived late to the Green Lake doggie event, and couldn’t find the green stairs where the group met; I called but just got the voice message. The sun burned overhead, and a mild headache crept across my brow from the heat combined with mild dehydration. Still, today I basked in the glow of a pagan cross-quarter holiday, and associated this, the first harvest of wheat and barley, with the Sneed heraldry, as a ’sned’ is the handle of a scythe used to harvest these grains, and appears on the coat-of-arms. I drank my NA beers, ate the salmon of knowledge, and had a great conversation with JG, whose birthday is July 31 - the eve of the start of The Games of Lugh. So, the blade of the Guild, and the handle of the Sneed, together will harvest the grains of the first harvest at the Games of Lugh festival of August! Yesterday I also spent a couple of hours of ‘toil’ in NM and VW’s yard, pulling weeds. I’ll return on Saturday for a full day’s toil, to really satisfy the inner Sned’s need to work the fields at this time. As for this evening, we’ll be ‘posh artsies’ at the MacLeod residence, the art, technology and community gallery in downtown Seattle. Today I´m reducing my belongings to the bare minimum, and allocating what I can spend while creating a cushion to extend vacation and still reconnect by the Fall Equinox. I can’t believe my time in Seattle is waning, as the sun moves into the South and the month of August begins…
