Well, things are starting to heat up around here. Feelings of excitement are suppressed, and a hint of anxiety is thrown in instead. On Tuesday I have an important interview in Friday Harbor, and the Hick Skipper III is out of service for a few weeks. So, I quickly booked a series of shuttle vans and ferry rides which will comprise a travel itinerary beginning 3:15 am Tuesday morning, likely lasting for a few weeks. From the interview I will race back to Seatac to board a plane for Atlanta, with a twelve hour layover there. Then on to Madrid, and a train ride to the coast at Oporto. Apprehension is nearly always unfounded; I cannot prevent unseen forces from working against me. It’s best to just get those ideas out of my head, and realize both a higher power and a steady resolve to go to task. I’ll need to cultivate that calm, and the strength to go beyond the limits of the usual comfort level. These upcoming travels are my event in the Games of Lugh, and I will simply do my best in his honor. True, travel will be tough, exhausting and I’ll need to have my guard up for my own security. But it is a great opportunity, and when challenged I will simply consult the power of Lugh and my own inner strength and calm. These are the tools that will allow me to give my best this month and into the future.
