Lugh

Games of LughAs the sun sets it becomes Lughnassadh, the first of three harvests – a moment for looking both forward and backward in time. Looking back, I remember the Summer Solstice – I was working in Southern California, trying to mention the fact it was Solstice whenever possible, as in when patrons asked me what the date was while filling out forms. The time from then until the present has been great; the first harvest is a success. In addition to making efforts pay off, strong relationships have formed and I realize the opportunities I’ve had. Looking ahead, I anticipate an entire month of vacation! That, combined with the first twenty-one days of September form the upcoming segment of the future. Surely expenses will be high and income almost negligible during this time. I should allot for this in advance, spend within my means and enjoy it – really live it up! In addition, I’ll dedicate idle time to creative endeavors, and by the Autumnal Equinox I’d like some better samples and bio-promo materials ready. All official obligations have been met – attention to detail helped me record the marriage license, change my mailing address, and evade jury duty. I’ve been taking care of the fine details and have had no penalties or hold-ups from tasks undone. Looking ahead, I will plan travels and events with care and thrift, as not to worry about over-stepping the comfort zone. The purpose of travel is to meet with friends and explore art, music, people, celebration, and nature – I will be generous, and live these next days with deliberate enjoyment. With the first harvest secure, I can appreciate the bounty and still make it safely to the next harvest in fine style.
